European Exploration and Expansion
European Exploration took place due to find an alternative route to trade with china. The reason they were looking for an alternative route to trade was because of the Ottoman Empire. The Ottoman Empire was taxing people to go through Istanbul, in which was a checkpoint in which everyone had to go through in order to get where thy need to be. So the Europeans did not like that, so they decided to sail around the world, hoping to find China. But what they found was in fact the Americas. Once word spread out of the new discovery, Europeans frantically came in to explore and claim this New World.

The colonizers exploited the goods from the indigenous people there. The colonized were often put in Encomiendas and or sent on the Columbian Exchange. A benefit for both the colonized and colonizer is the creation of Mestizos. They help increase the population, and create a new race.
