The Great Depression and WWII
After WWI ended, the US fell into a state of depression. There was no innovation in industry, and people were left with no jobs, and people were starving. Meanwhile in Germany, Germany was paying their debt to Britain and France. Then Hitler and the Nazi Party came along to try to make the lives of the Germans better by creating a Fascist government. Hitler persecuted the Jews, blaming them for all their problems and he tried to kill them all in The Holocaust. The US became involved due to the bombing of Pearl Harbor by the Japanese. Then the US bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki with atomic bombs. The battle of Stalingrad was one of the last where Germany lost the war.
